The paper machine's dryer cylinder is an essential component for drying paper. It is utilized in the drying section of a paper production line.
By working with hot steam from a steam boiler, the dryer cylinder dries the wet paper sheets, allowing them to be rolled into large rolls of paper.
The main function of the dryer is to remove moisture from the paper and create a smooth surface.
The purpose of the turbulators is to eliminate the formation of a water ring in the dryer by creating high-speed turbulence. These turbulators are installed on the inner surface of the dryer and rotate at the same speed as the dryer. This movement causes the water ring to become turbulent, which aids in the conduction of heat.
The design of the dryer cylinder allows for easy and quick installation due to its lightweight and separate structure. It also provides high radial and axial strength, ensuring a secure installation.
To ensure that condensed water is effectively drained from the dryer and prevent flooding, it is important to increase the temperature of the cylinder surface as much as possible to enhance drying efficiency. Additionally, the selection of a siphon is crucial in order to minimize temperature differences on the cylinder surface and achieve uniform moisture content in the paper.
There are two main types of siphons used for dryer drainage: fixed and rotary. The fixed siphon remains stationary outside the dryer and does not rotate with it, while the rotary siphon is fixed inside the dryer and rotates along with it.
The wet paper from the press section goes through a series of dryers in the drying section. These dryers transfer the heat from steam to the web through their cast iron shells, resulting in the heating and drying of the web. The paper sheet is tightly covered by the drying fabric on the oven, so that the paper sheet can contact the surface of the oven better, thus strengthening the heat transfer process.
