1. For paper machines with speeds up to 500m/min, on single or multi-layer fabrics, a single nozzle is generally sufficient.
2. When producing very low basis weight paper grades at medium or higher speeds, good results can be achieved by using a well-assembled single nozzle on single or multi-layer fabrics.
On Fourdrinier paper machines, trimming water needle nozzles are usually installed in front of the vacuum roll. Since the cut edges of the paper are not re-pressed, there is no problem once the nozzle makes a perfect cut.
3. On a web-forming paper machine, especially when the machine speed is very high, if the space structure allows, it is recommended to place the trimming water needle behind the vacuum roller.
